The Whales are Anatomy Experts!

The Whales have spent the last three weeks diving deep into an exploration of the human body. We spent time looking at the function of the skeletal, circulatory, digestive, respiratory and muscular systems. With each study, Whales were given a chance to practice becoming whatever system we were studying. They spent time thinking about how it might feel to be a red blood cell, a small intestine, or a body without bones. Using a kinesthetic and art-based approach, the Whales used various mediums to create a replica of the system on their skeleton. Their work is beautiful and they are so proud of it!

Hanging in our Creative Play area is a stunning art piece based on our Body Unit. Photographs were taken by Mr. Mark, with writing by the Whales. Such sweetness!
